Photography Quotes

"Life is like a camera... Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't turn out – take another shot"

"One of the biggest mistakes a photographer can make is to look at the real world and cling to the vain hope that next time his film will somehow bear a closer resemblance to it...If we limit our vision to the real world, we will forever be fighting on the minus side of things, working only too make our photographs equal to what we see out there, but no better."
Galen Rowell

"Art is the only way to run away without leaving home."
Twyla Tharp

"Amateurs worry about equipment, professionals worry about money, masters worry about light, I just take pictures..."
Vernon Trent

"Photography, as we all know, is not real at all. It is an illusion of reality with which we create our own private world."
Arnold Newman

"Take nothing but pictures. Kill nothing but time. Leave nothing but footprints."
John Kay - "Nothing But"

Hello dear visitor,
welcome to my little page of photos. Take a look and if you have any questions, just ask. Feedback in the form of comments, critiques, faves or watches is most welcome!

I'm a hobby photographer who is trying to find her focus. Sometimes I'm very active and then times flies by fast and I didn't do anything at all. That's just life I guess. I also enjoy featuring others and do so on a regular basis - more info in the box to the left.

I won't thank you for every single fave, although it's very appreciated. What I will do, though, is answer every comment, give back every llama and visit your gallery each time you interact with me in any way. It might take some time and you won't necessarily notice me, but I will take a look. Promise.

Thank you for stopping by!

Travel The World Header by serel

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page."

The world offers so many breathtaking locations and places to see and not everyone is able to visit them in person. With this new feature series I invite you on a journey to discover and enjoy the beauty our planet offers. Let's travel the world!

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA

Yellowstone is the oldest national park of the world, foundet 1872, and the second largest in the USA. The park covers about 9000km² in the southern Rocky Mountains and belongs to the UNESCO world natural heritage.
Since 1990 more than 2,8 million tourists visit the park each year, escpecially during summer. Apart from visiting the main attractions, visitors are offered a variety of outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, kayak, climbing or animal observation.

Yellowstone offers a vast variety of landscapes: from a deep canyon (38 km long and up to 365m deep) to the largest mountain lake, from hot springs and geysers to ice cold waterfalls, from meadows to forests and high mountains.

One of the main attractions of Yellowstone National Park are the geothermal phenomenons. With over 300 geysers, fumaroles and mud pots and a total of about 10.000 hydrothermal features, Yellowstone contains the world's largest concentration of geysers and approximately one-half of the world's hydrothermal features.

A supervolcano is the reason for the geothermal hotspot of the Yellowstone region. A huge part of the national park lies inside the caldera of the yellowstone volcano, which took shape about 640.000 years ago.

I've got a DD!  How awesome is that?  Woohooooo!
When I logged in today I had the wonderful surprise that Mrs-Durden featured my deviation Creating Stars  Creating Stars by serel as a DD. I'm very proud of this photo, so the feature and her corresponding words mean a lot to me. Thank you so much! Cheerleader
Do you like baking? Or have at least some baking ingredients? Then check out this month's challenges at Still-Life-Stills : Recipe challenge NovemberGood evening every one!
I'm sorry to say this (and I might be an ass for saying it too) but guys, really? You are 15 people who got the theme you wanted for this challenge and a total of 29 people who voted for a theme and not one of you bothered (had time I've talked to some of you and I understand your reasons ) to spend an hour or two to take a picture and actually join in on something you said you wanted, what's up with that? I'm sorry but I put a lot of time into doing this for you guys and it feels like I'm trying to motivate a stone wall (like go wall go!). I understand you have a life, I understand you have school, work and all that, but you know mixing in making a pumpkin soup or making a pumpkin pie, or cookies into your daily life isn't that hard, I bet many of you carved pumpkin lanterns, why not use some of the pumpkin from that? It makes me sad you know.
So yeah, I'm gonna keep on hosting this until December, and then we'll see if we'll keep it going in Janua
Still life challenge NovemberHi everyone!
So we got two submissions for our October challenge, thank you both of you for taking part! You'll be getting your prices this time but I'm gonna add a new rule to the challenge: Minimum 4 people must take part for there to be any prices. I feel like it's a bit weird to give prices when we only get 2 submissions to a challenge who only have a first and a second place, I hope you guys understand that. I'm also going to announce the new challenge first this time and then the winners, yay to new things!
So the theme with the most votes this time is Preparations - baking/cooking which only had one vote more then Letter to santa which is kinda funny. (Don't forget to vote on the December theme!)
Anyways! I hope you are happy with the theme, which should be super easy because all you have to do is basically to take a picture while preparing something you are gonna cook, bake or eat! Super easy right? I'll post an example to you this weekend just to get you
I have been featured! Check out the following journals of people who were so nice to feature my art in the last weeks:

i wish i could make it easy

but still i reach, to find a way
i'm stuck here in between
i'm looking for the right words to say
